Revealing three ways to unlock the benefits of nature, for wildlife and our mental and physical wellbeing

We highlighted three basic steps to unlocking the benefits of nature at a recent webinar. Delivered in association with CIEEM, the webinar covered:

Enhancement. Organisations can enhance the ‘spaces inbetween’ – the buildings and urban landscape, private gardens, balconies and courtyards. This will maximise the opportunity for equal access to nature for all. It will extend the organisational reach beyond the corporate estate. It will exploit the benefits nature brings.

Enjoyment. Our ability to get out and spend time in nature is dependent on the availability of green space close to home. Is your organisation expressly encouraging staff to spend time in nature? It is likely to improve the health, happiness, wellbeing and productivity of your people?

Engagement. Being outside is only part of the story. We need to strengthen our personal connections with wildlife and the natural world. Those that do have greater life satisfaction and positive outlook. Work by Natural England and the University of Derby has shown how this can also galvanise more people to take action for the environment and nature.

How could you, and your organisation, become more nature connected?
