A review published this year by the University of Copenhagen concluded that “the research, conducted over the past eight years, into outdoor, nature-based exposure has now attained a sound evidence base for psychological and especially emotional effects”.
The work screened 5618 articles and assessed 36 in detail. Time spent in nature was found to have a positive impact on stress.
In the UK in 2018/19, stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 54% of all working days lost due to ill health.
The World Health Organisation define a health work environment as “one in which staff have made health and health promotion a priority and part of their working lives.”
So how could making nature part of the work experience help?
